Apology for preceding e-mail

My deepest apology for the preceding e-mail message, for some reason my e-mail program sent out the last newsletter with this issue's issue number to everybody, I didn't find out until I got the message myself and realized that it was the wrong newsletter. This is the correct issue #23

SubspaceLink ICQ ActiveList

Well it's here, took me a while to decide to do it, but I have created an ICQ ActiveList for the SubspaceLink. Check out ICQ ActiveList # 59114221

ICQ ActiveList requires at least ICQ99b. I've watched ICQ evolve since 98b and although 99a was not the best upgrade I've ever seen, 99b has some very nice enhancements over the old 98b, so if you have not yet upgraded, I encourage you to do so and then join the SubspaceLink activelist. Unfortunately the activelist is not 24/7 and requires me to run it from my comp, but it allows for better communication between the members of the SubspaceLink.

To join the SubspaceLink activelist, click on the Services button in ICQ, and go to ICQ Active List. Then click on Find/Add an ICQ ActiveList. In the box that comes up enter ActiveList # 59114221

When you join the list I'll be sent a message, then I'll check your e-mail address to see if you are a member of the SubspaceLink and if you are (which of course you are if you are getting this e-mail) then I will authorize you.

Most Recent news from Voyager

Well the most recent "new" episode of Voyager was the one I talked about in advance last issue. At this, the close of 1999, Voyager's crew has been contacted by Lieutenant Barclay back on earth. They now have the technology necessary to establish communication with the Alpha Quadrant on a regular basis. Troi did not appear in any scenes opposite 7 of 9, in fact, all the scenes containing Troi were just her and Barclay. The episode was very good in my opinion. One of the best praises I have are in the "holographic Voyager" scenes. I was very interested in the small imperfections that Barclay programmed in. The big imperfections, making Barclay a valuable member of the crew, were a little overkill if you ask me, but I was fascinated to note the small imperfections that some writers would have overlooked but the writer of the episode didn't. The most important of these are the uniforms of the Maquis crew members. That imperfection being that they were not wearing Starfleet uniforms but Maquis uniforms. Barclay knew from their previous contact with Voyager that the Maquis crew were part of the Voyager crew now, but I'm sure the doctor neglected to inform starfleet that they are wearing starfleet uniforms, which of course makes sense seing as who cares what uniforms they are wearing, I'm sure the doc didn't. I have high praise for the writer's foresight in writing those scenes.

SubspaceLink Millennium's Eve Party

As this millennium draws to a close, think about this, as we enter the 3rd millennium, we will be in the same millennium as the Star Trek Universe, we're catching up :), well we'll celebrate the close of this year and the beginning of the next century with an online new year's eve party starting at 9 pm Central Time and ringing through the new year in the SubspaceLink chat rooms on both the paramount chat server and the subspacelink chat server.

Join us on either chat.subspacelink.com or picard.paramount.com in the #SubspaceLink channel for an online celebration of the end of the year, decade, century, and millennium.

There will be games, general chatter, and lots of good fun. Stop by.

Well, this is the last issue of Volume 2 of the SubspaceLink newsletter, be sure to stick around, I will be introducing a new look to the newsletter in the next volume, as well as more changes to the SubspaceLink in general, I hope you all had a Merry Christmas, and to all of you, a very happy New Year.
